Breaking down the microbiology world one bite at a time
Olivia Duddy, MSc
Editor – Writer

I am a fourth-year PhD student in Molecular Biology at Princeton University. My research interests lie at the intersection of chemistry and microbiology. I study quorum sensing and interkingdom signaling in the bacterial pathogen Vibrio cholerae and a V. cholerae-infecting virus. Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading and writing, and playing cards.
My articles
- Phages reinterpret the genetic code
- Therapeutic potential of probiotic-like drugs
- The bacterial community of your old chewing gum
- Prokaryotic origins of science’s biggest gene editing technology
- An ancient chemical weapon against viral predators.
- The skin’s “frenemy”
- Microbes in cheese – competition or cooperation.
