Breaking down the microbiology world one bite at a time

Tyron Chang

Writer

I am currently a sixth year Ph.D. student at UT Southwestern Medical Center. My
current research focus is understanding how host defense can be shaped by
macronutrients during viral infection. My profound interest in microbes stems from how
we can often gain insights into cell biology through the lens of viruses.
I also have a strong interest in science communication. As an aspiring science writer,
my goal is to promote scientific literacy in general and hope to ignite a passion for
learning science in others.
