I am a PhD student at the University of California San Francisco in their Biomedical Science program. I graduated from the Indian Institute of Science with a Bachelor of Science (Research) degree with a Biology major. I am interested in understanding the fascinating biology happening at the gut mucosa. I am constantly amazed by the intricate communication between microbes and us, as well as, intercellular communication between our many cells. Here on MicroBites, I am hoping to share my passion for the wonders of mucosal sites with the readers! My motivation to do science arises from wanting to improve our understanding of mucosal immunology so that it can leveraged into treatment strategies and help people. I also believe that it is important to share laboratory science with the public, and hence, science writing is a hobby!  Always open to discussing science with everyone 🙂
