Breaking down the microbiology world one bite at a time

I’m a PhD candidate at Harvard Medical School studying how microbes in our gut communicate with us. I am especially interested in the chemicals produced by our bacteria that act as signaling molecules we can respond to. Besides science on the bench, I am committed to science for the public, with an emphasis on highlighting diverse voices in STEM. As a writer for MicroBites, my aim is to get non-microbiologists jazzed up about microbes and all the ways in which they continue to surprise us. In addition, I write for WOWSTEM to spotlight women+ scientists and their impressive contributions to science and society. When there isn’t a pipette or pen in my hand, I love discovering new coffee shops, traveling as often as I can, listening to live music, and taking care of my plants.
