Raphael Hans Lwesya, a native of Tanzania, began his journey towards a higher education at Makerere University in Uganda, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He is currently fully committed to his Ph.D. studies at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.

For many years, Raphael has donned the roles of a dedicated phage researcher and an enthusiastic science communicator. His passion led him to establish “thephage.xyz,” a blog dedicated to unraveling the intriguing world of bacteriophages – viruses that target microbes.

Raphael’s goal is to close the communication gap between the general public and difficult scientific ideas. He takes pride in explaining complex scientific concepts in a way that everyone can understand. He simplifies the key points of cutting-edge phage-related research publications into digestible chunks, making them understandable to everyone.
