Breaking down the microbiology world one bite at a time

I am a graduate student in the Molecular Medicine PhD program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, USA. While completing my Master’s at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, I became interested in host-pathogen interactions through my classes, and vector biology due to my research studying the olfactory system of the Anopheles mosquito for malaria eradication purposes. While my graduate interest then stemmed off into human neuroscience and pathology, I am still a lover of microbiology at heart. I hope during the course of my life to strengthen ties between the scientific community and the world at large so everyone can better understand the diseases that may give rise to current and future epidemics!
